Goo Goo Dolls - Iris

Music Appreciation

There is a time when that person you feel perfectly connected comes into your life. And if you are like me, the wonderful memories are reminded by a certain song. For me, it was the song "Iris" by American alternative rock band Goo Goo Dolls.

The song, which was written by Johnny Rzeznik for the 1998 film City of Angels, contributed to the band's success and received nominations for "Record of the Year" and "Pop Performance by a Duo or Group." The song has even been ranked as one of Billboard's "Top 100 Pop Songs 1992-2012."

Amy Brown

Art Appreciation

You've probably seen Amy Brown's faeries on websites, products, and other stuff. I came across her faeries while visiting a bookstore on Pearl Street in Boulder.

When viewing her paintings, it's easy to find yourself in the majestic Faery realm where faeries share their personalities and stories. For example, it's easy to feel the season change in the painting titled Passage to Autumn.

You can see more of her work HERE.

blink-182 - What's My Age Again?

Music Appreciation

Released in April 1999, What's My Age Again? is a song by American punk rock band Blink-182. The song, which was written by bassist Mark Hoppus, is about age and maturity. Yet, as a person who is about to turn 40, I can still somewhat relate to this song. I mean, "No one should take themselves so seriously, with many years ahead to fall in line" still lies true in my eyes.

The music video, which was directed by Marcos Siega, features the band running naked around West 3rd Street in Central LA, KTLA studios, and Fox Sports Net. Porn star Janine Lindemulder, who also appears on the cover of their Enema of the State album, and comedian John Henson also appear in the music video.
