Photography Appreciation
I'm not sure how I happened to stumble across Vivian Dorothea Maier, but I am glad I did.
Born on February 1, 1926, Maier is a American street photographer recently discovered after her photographs, which many were undeveloped, were purchased at a storage auction.
What's more intriguing is that Maier worked as a nanny and no one knew about her talent until shortly before her death in 2009. Two individuals who purchased her photographs at auction, John Maloof and Charles Siskel, create a documentary film called Finding Vivian Maier.
You can see a lot more of her photography HERE.
