Maurice Ravel - Boléro


Music Appreciation

French composer, pianist and conductor Joseph Maurice Ravel was born on March 7, 1875. He is best known for his one-movement orchestral piece Boléro. The piece is written for a large orchestra beginning pianissimo (soft) and rising in a continuous crescendo to fortissimo (loud).
