Robert Lenkiewicz

Art Appreciation

I came across a painting titled The Painter with Patti Avery, which features a scraggly painter holding a paint brush on one hand and supporting a woman's chest with the other. He studies the viewer as if a reflection. The painting is both sensual and academic.

The painter is Robert Oscar Lenkiewicz. He was born in London on December 31, 1941 and is considered one of South West England's most celebrated artist known for his realistic figurative paintings.

Check out the memoir blog by one of his daughters, Alice Rhenna Lenkiewicz, HERE, watch this short documentary of the artist HERE, and view more of his amazing work HERE.

My choices for the 2018 AVN Fan Awards

UPDATE: 6% Accurate

What have I been doing the past few weeks in December? Watching porn. 😜 I am kidding. Really. Honestly.

My friends and I attended the AVN Awards Red Carpet, last year. Before attending, I decided to participate and vote for my choices for the AVN Fan Awards, which you can see HERE. So, this year, I am doing it again.

My choices are based on a bracket system that randomly places nominees for each category. By utilizing Pornhub and Twitter, I assessed each actor and cammer. I look primarily for personality and how they fit the category. Naturally, I also look at titillation. And like last year, it was extremely difficult selecting one talent over the other.

So before attending this year's 35th AVN Awards, here are my final four and top choices for the 2018 AVN Fan Awards:

Released on December 27, 1982, Fall in Love with Me, written by Wayne Vaughn and Wanda Vaughn, featured Maurice White, Ms. Pluto and the rest of Earth, Wind and Fire dancing in what resembles ancient Egypt in a holodeck. Hearing Santa Claus

I was about 7 years old, when I heard Santa Claus.

It was late on Christmas Eve and I could hear my parents fighting--they were more arguing than fighting, but for a kid it sounded liked a fight.

On the roof, I remember hearing what sounded like hoofs. Hoofs that blended with trees rustling with the outside wind.

Then suddenly the door slammed. I jumped out of bed and ran to the window but could only see the streetlight and the quiet neighborhood.

My dad ran into my room and asked what happened. I explained I heard Santa Claus. Curious, he looked outside too and called out to mom.

We all came out of my room and went to the door, but no sign of Santa. Then we turned to the living room and saw the many presents under the Christmas tree. He did arrive and even enjoyed the milk and cookies I left.

Excited to see all the presents, my parents started a tradition of opening one present Christmas Eve. We all did. I don't remember what I opened first, but I do remember going back to bed eager to wake up the next morning to open the rest.

Tracks 83: Music Mix 1988 Part II

Calgary Canada hosted the Winter Olympics and Seoul, Korea hosted the Summer Olympics, the island of Jamaica was hit by Hurricane Gilbert, and the Iran - Iraq War ended after 8 years. In U.S. politics, George H. W. Bush defeats Democratic challenger Michael Dukakis.

For me, as a 12 year old kid who loved watching MTV, the most memorable music videos were INXS' A New Sensation and Michael Jackson's The Way You Make Me Feel. The lead singer for INXS, Michael Hutchence, epitomized rock star and sexy, in the late 80s. And the model, Tatiana Thumbstzen, in Michael Jackson's music video, was mesmerizing in beauty.

Steve Winwood - Don't You Know What The Night Can Do?
Foreigner - Say You Will
Cheap Trick - Don't Be Cruel
Pretty Poison - Catch Me (I'm Falling)
INXS - New Sensation
U2 - Desire
Information Society - What's On Your Mind (Pure Energy)
Kylie Minogue - The Loco-motion
INXS - Devil Inside
UB40 - Red Red Wine
Michael Jackson - The Way You Make Me Feel
The Bangles - Hazy Shade of Winter
Johnny Hates Jazz - Shattered Dreams
Debbie Gibson - Shake Your Love
Escape Club - Wild, Wild West
Billy Ocean - Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car
Steve Winwood - Roll With It
Guns N' Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine
Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up
George Michael - Father Figure

The Blue Genie Art Bazaar

Art Appreciation

I've lived in Austin for the past 18 years. Thus, perhaps I can indeed consider myself an Austinite.

Every Sunday, I open the Austin Chronicle to see what's going on in the city. My aim is mostly art exhibits and galleries. Preferably free. And trust me, there are plenty. Even if there was a charge, the fee is reasonable.

This weekend, I decided to visit The Blue Genie Art Bazaar. As explained on their website, "The Bazaar features the work of more than 200 artists offering a wide variety of imaginative and beautiful gifts." And they do. Many of the products sold are handmade by local and regional artists.

Here are a few artists I came across at the bazaar:

Frans Mensink

Art Appreciation

I came across the wonderful work by Dutch erotic artist and illustrator Frans Mensink. To be honest, his work is quite titillating.

His illustrations start with photographing models. As he explains in his bio, this has helped him improve lighting, emotion, expression, and diversity.

You can see more of his work HERE.

American actress Anne Marie "Patty" Duke was born on December 14, 1946 in Queens, New York. She is best known for her role as Helen Keller in the 1962 film The Miracle Worker.

She then returned to TV for her own series The Patty Duke Show, where she portrayed two characters, who were identical cousins. After the series was canceled, she appeared in Valley of the Dolls (1967).

Tracks 83: Music Mix 1987 Part II

For me, 1987 was prime. A lot of great music videos were being played on MTV. You had the badass Billy Idol singing Mony Mony and the Beastie Boys showing nerds that the must Fight For the Right To Party! And at the same time, you had some mainstream pop hits like Crowded House's Something So Strong, ABC's When Smokey Sings, and Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam's Lost In Emotion.

But perhaps one my my favorite song and music video was Aretha Frankin & George Michael's I Knew You Were Waiting. It combined two powerful singers and entertainers to create a wonderful song.

Beastie Boys - (You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party0
Huey Lewis And The News - Doing It All For My Baby
Crowded House - Something So Strong
Expose - Let Me Be The One
Bon Jovi - Wanted Dead or Alive
ABC - When Smokey Sings
Glass Tiger -Someday
Swing Out Sister - Breakout
Madonna - Who's That Girl
Janet Jackson - Control
Aretha Franklin & George Michael - I Knew You Were Waiting For Me
Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam - Lost In Emotion
Billy Medley, Jennifer Warnes - (I've Had) The Time of My Life
U2 - I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
Billy Idol - Mony Mony
Jody Watley - Looking For A New Love
Crowded House - Don't Dream It's Over
Whitesnake - Here I Gor Again
The Bangles - Walk Like an Egyptian
