Colossus Cockroach

Why would anyone be interested in the colossus cockroach? Yes, they are the largest cockroach in the world. Quite disgusting too. Just look at the photo.

I took this picture early this year at the Rochester Museum and Science Center in New York state. These are actually live roaches and they are this big.

Imagine coming across this critter at night in the kitchen. Yuck!

Jackson Square

Located in the heart of Batavia, New York, Jackson Square hosts summer concerts and events throughout the year.

Jackson Square is surrounded by murals of yesteryear locations. The murals were painted by Vincenzo DelPlato in the 1990s. You can read more about him here.

Brown Page Butterfly

I have always loved butterflies. I really don't know why? Could it because they are delicate? Could it be because they are capable of living several stages in life?

Today, I have spent several hours classifying pictures I took of butterflies.

This one was taken at the Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York. The Brown Page is native to Central and South America.
