Pascal Chove

Art Appreciation

I don't recall how I came across French painter Pascal Chove. It was probably through one of the three art blogs I follow, which I've included their links below.

Pascal Chove is known for his realistic paintings of the female form in intimate settings. His paintings rest against material such as netting, cardboard or tissue, which gives each piece a sense of remembrance or flashback.

You can see more of his beautiful artwork HERE.

Loredana Catania

Art Appreciation

I came across artist Loredana Catania through Artodyssey, a blog I follow. What caught my attention was her paintings of fairy tale stories that look almost frightening.

For example, her painting titled "The Room With Toys" features a doll petting a bunny with large eyes and furry wheels. However, her painting also includes hints of realism such as a wreath, flowers and pears.

You can see more of the Sicilain artists surreal paintings HERE.

Luiz de Souza

Art Appreciation

Luiz de Souza is an award-winning contemporary surrealist artist from Brazil. Inspired by Renaissance painters and Pre-Raphaelites, Souza's oil paintings are colorful and exciting. My personal favorite is the one of children with tea pots on their heads balancing on lotto balls.

You can see more of his work HERE.
