Fashion is DEFINITELY Art: ART HEARTS SWIM WEEK LAS VEGAS, AUG 2025

Art Hearts Fashion’s Swim Week Las Vegas returned for its second annual run at AREA15 from August 15-17, 2025. It transformed the venue into a multi-sensory playground, combining high-glamour runway shows, immersive video mapping, and after-dark festivities that stretched from Fontainebleau and LIV Beach to LIV Nightclub.

The event brought together an international roster of designers—both veterans and rising stars—each showing distinct interpretations of swimwear, resort wear, and evening swim looks. Highlights of the styles on display: sculptural one-pieces, swimlingerie (swimwear that borders on intimate apparel), athletic swimwear with couture details, and artisan knits.

Fashion is DEFINITELY Art: Dolce & Gabbana - Alta Moda 2025: A Tribute to Rome

Artistic Director and Director: Giuliano Peparini

This documentary-style piece highlights Rome’s collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana, framing the city as both inspiration and stage for a series of elaborate fashion events. The designers are celebrated not only as creators of couture, jewelry, and tailoring, but as artists who treat Rome itself as muse, subject, and setting. With support from costume houses like Tirelli Trappetti and partnerships across cinema, theater, and music, the events aim to merge Rome’s ancient grandeur and sacred traditions with modern artistry. Settings such as the Roman Forum, Castel Sant’Angelo, and Cinecittà are transformed into living runways, evoking epic films like Ben-Hur and Fellini’s cinematic visions, while performances and scenography draw from Roman, ecclesiastical, and 1960s “Dolce Vita” influences.

Fashion is DEFINITELY Art: The Making of Vogue’s Met Gala Issue

This year’s Met Gala isn’t just a star-studded fashion spectacle—it’s a cultural statement. Inspired by the Superfine: Tailoring Black Style exhibition at the Costume Institute, the event puts Black dandyism and self-expression at the center of fashion’s most visible stage. Curated in collaboration with scholars and artists like Monica Miller and Iké Udé, the exhibit highlights how Black men have used fashion as a form of resistance, identity, and artistry across generations.

But what began as a celebration of Black style now lands in a politically charged climate. With federal crackdowns on diversity programming and renewed attacks on race-centered initiatives, the Met Gala has become, intentionally or not, a symbol of cultural pushback. Under the leadership of Anna Wintour and co-chairs like A$AP Rocky and LeBron James, this year's event challenges the industry to go beyond aesthetics and embrace accountability.

From Harlem to high fashion, this moment is more than a red carpet—it's about reclaiming space, honoring legacy, and reshaping who gets seen in the halls of power and style.
