Danish Eurodance group, Aqua, was best known for their 1997 Barbie Girl. The song was such a controversial issue with toy maker Mattel filing suit for the use of the Barbie brand, which was later dismissed in 2002.
The song reached the top 10 in the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
This is perhaps one of my favorite 90's songs. I think it's more because of the many questions in the song's lyrics, which I found myself asking after breaking up with a girl. "I bought a ticket to the end of the rainbow, watched the stars crash in the sea, if I can ask God just one question, why aren't you here with me tonight?"
Someday We'll Know was the second single released from American alternative rock band New Radicals' 1998 album Maybe You've Been Brainwashed Too.
The music video, which was directed by David Barnblatt, features the band playing in a warehouse, with scenes of lonely people on a bus, in a diner, next to a swimming pool, and in a laundromat.
I had the pleasure of meeting American painter John Alexander at Earth Day Texas. He was signing prints of his oil painting titled "Lost Loves." The beautiful painting features all types of birds from quails to woodpeckers to owls.
You can see more of his wonderful paintings at his website HERE.
