Caspar David Friedrich

Art Appreciation

Casper David Friedrich was born in a Pomeranian town of Greifswald on September 5, 1774. The landscape painter is best known for his mid-period allegorical paintings which typically featured silhouettes in the background.

His popularity rose a century later during the Nazi era, but sharply declined as his paintings were associated with its movement.

Aerosmith - Rag Doll

Music Appreciation

I was about 11 years old when I first watched Aerosmith's Rag Doll music video on MTV. And it couldn't have come at a better time for me--puberty.

Rag Doll, which is from the 1987 album Permanent Vacation, was released in 1988. The song peaked at number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The music video was directed by Marty Callner and features the band performing at the Freedom Hall Civic Center concert and the Sigma Nu Fraternity house in Johnson City, Tennessee.
