Artist Appreciation
Czech painter, Jaroslava Muchová Syllabová was born on March 15, 1909. She was the daughter of Bohemian and Czech artist Alphonse Mucha, and a contributor to several of his artwork as a model and as a restorer.
Jaroslava was instrumental in restoring her father's The Slav Epic, a cycle of 20 large canvases, which were hidden from Nazis.
Fun fact, her father pictured her on Czechoslovak currency.
