I came across Zoey Frank through Artodyssey, an art blog. What caught my attention was a painting of a beautiful woman's back titled Camellia. The light used shows detail and precision of the female form.

Michael Van Zeyl

While surfing art blogs, I came across a painting of a nude girl cupping with her hands levitating peonies. The painting, which is titled Peonista II, is by American artist Michael Van Zeyl. He is best known for his use of light and color in his realistic paintings that are romantic and nostalgic.

Andres Serrano

Photography Appreciation

Andres Serrano is an American contemporary photographer and artist known for his avant-garde photos of people, corpses and objects. One of his most notable works, which ignited protest from fundamentalists, is of a crucifix submerged in urine.

Film Appreciation

If you grew up in the 90s, then you probably remember watching Flatliners. The film was directed by Joel Schumacher and starred Julia Roberts and Kiefer Sutherland.

The movie, which opened on August 10, 1990, is about medical students experimenting with death to find what lies beyond.
