Molly Crabapple

Art Appreciation

I came across a Smithsonian Magazine article about a fascinating person, Molly Crabapple, who is an American artist, activist, illustrated journalist, and entrepreneur.

As the article explained, she has reported on Syrian refugees and prisoners in Guantánamo Bay. She chronicled Occupy and even participated in the strike.

This influential artist first started as a model and burlesque performer. She also modeled for SuicideGirls, which I do remember seeing her portfolio.

In late 2015, Crabapple released her memoir titled Drawing Blood. Sarah Galo for Bustle reported on the artist's new book and and an interview with Vice touches on being an artist.

You can see more of her work HERE.
