Written and produced by Max Martin and Rami Yacoub, the upbeat and infectious pop hit tells a story of a girl who has broken a boy's heart yet again, "Oops!... I did it again, I played with your heart, got lost in the game."
The space-themed music video, which was directed by British music video and film director Nigel Dick, features Britney Spears dressed in a red latex bodysuit showcasing her impressive dance skills.
