Pavel Acevedo

Art Appreciation

Pavel Acevedo, originally from Oaxaca, Mexico, initiated his art studies at the Rufino Tamayo Plastic Arts Workshop in Oaxaca City. He later pursued a Bachelor's Degree in visual arts at the Fine Arts School of Oaxaca, studying under notable artists like Shinzaburo Takeda and Raul Herrera. Acevedo further expanded his education through workshops with artists such as Isis Rodriguez and Marietta Bernstorff. As an assistant in print studios for artists Demian Flores and Alejandro Santiago, he gained valuable experience.

In 2010, Acevedo moved to Riverside, California, engaging in printmaking projects with a focus on social justice and educational awareness in communities of color. Much of Acevedo's art explores migration, immigration, borders, and the dualities faced by immigrants in a new nation.
