Leighton Meester was born on April 9, 1986, in Fort Worth, Texas, and spent part of her early childhood in Florida before moving to New York to pursue acting. As a teenager, she studied at the Professional Children’s School while auditioning for television roles.

Her early screen appearances included guest spots on series such as Law & Order and CSI: Miami, steadily building her résumé in the early 2000s. These formative years positioned her for larger opportunities as she transitioned from small television roles into mainstream visibility.

Meester’s career expanded through both modeling and acting. She worked with major brands and appeared in fashion campaigns while continuing to secure television and film roles. Her breakthrough came with the CW series Gossip Girl (2007–2012), where she portrayed Blair Waldorf, a role that defined her public image and established her as a pop-culture figure.
