C.W. Gluck - Che farò senza Euridice


Music Appreciation

Christoph Willibald Gluck (C.W. Gluck) was born on July 2, 1714. He was known for composing Italian and French operas in the early classical period.

He's known for bringing practical reform in the theory and practice of dramatic composition (dramaturgical). One of his most notable work is Orfeo ed Euridice, an opera based on the myth of Orpheus. It was first performed at the Burgtheater in Vienna on October 5, 1762 in the presnce of Empress Maria Theresa.
