Art Appreciation
Born on July 9, 1937 in Bradford, England, David Hockney is considered the most influential artist of the 20th century.
In the early 60s, Hockney, who is openly gay, painted 'Sometimes, as in We Two Boys Together Clinging.'
Soon after graduating from the Royal College of Art in London in 1962, he moved to Los Angeles, where he was inspired to paint a series of swimming pools.
In the 80s, Hockney started playing around with the study of movement in photography using collages and creating a narrative.
